Convert Your Data Center to Revenue-Producing Space with a Trusted View of the Digital Estate and Application Affinities

The Challenge

Initially, our client planned to vacate roughly 800-900 server images housing 73 applications from its on-premises data center before March 2024. A good deal of work had been done to prepare for the migration, including identifying a target data center, identifying data sources, and of required project resources, but still needed a detailed and trusted determination of the digital estate including application affinities for the planned move.

Adding to the challenge, during the course of engagement and carrying into discovery, our client’s timeline and target datacenter were subject to replanning.

Client Benefits

GTSG helped our client achieve a trusted and verified inventory and topology of 770 infrastructure assets and 191 application workloads, their affinities, and business requirements that they could apply as changing prioritization and scheduling requirements solidified.

Along the way, GTSG also discovered and provided an inventory of 92 opportunities for server and infrastructure refresh or decommissioning to execute before moving, thus reducing risk in transition.

The bottom line: Our client had a trusted base from which to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
