Our client offers statistical reporting services to property/casualty insurers, relying on a mainframe-based infrastructure to execute their core business applications.  Like many zSeries customers of their size, they have experienced increased difficulty hiring and retaining resources to manage the mainframe and middleware environments.

The Solution

GTSG provides a service-level based Mainframe Managed Services solution, which completely relieves the client from systems management activities and provides for:

  1. Installation of new IBM z/OS and ISV software components
  2. Research, installation of, and migration of IBM and ISV maintenance on a semi-annual basis
  3. Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning services as required
  4. Routine configuration and customization based upon previous client standards
  5. 7x24x365 tier 1, 2, 3 technical support of the mainframe infrastructure environment, maintaining the current performance and quality of service
  6. Support for Disaster Recovery testing exercises, actual Disaster Recovery Declarations, and ongoing maintenance of related Disaster Recovery documentation and recovery plans
  7. Coordination of all software installation, maintenance, break-fix, etc. activities with business and technology leaders to ensure critical business cycles are not disrupted
  8. Dedicated resources who have become trusted advisors, valued for their skills and experience diversity
  9. Complete ownership of service management including incidents, projects, and outcomes
